Independent Sixth Form Study Supervisor 

King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls

Monday – Friday 08:00am – 3:45pm, with one day finishing at 4:00pm
36.5 hours per week, term time only
Point 9 (FTE £20,344) Pro rata salary £17,792

The school is seeking to appoint an Independent Study Supervisor (term time only) to join our sixth form team from 6th January 2020. The successful applicant will lead the supervision of year 12 and 13 students during their independent study period ensuring through a proactive approach that the students are engaged in purposeful and effective learning. The role also has an administrative aspect and may require the successful applicant to undertake some cover supervision of lessons in sixth form.

We are seeking an experienced Teacher of Spanish at King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy. Caretaker

King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls

Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 2:00pm, Friday 6:30am – 1:30pm

The school is seeking to appoint a full time Caretaker to join our busy site team with a start date of 6th January 2020. The successful candidate will show commitment towards the role and the School and be adaptive and flexible in their willingness to work as part of a team to ensure the School runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be expected to be polite, friendly and welcoming, delivering excellent customer care for students, staff and visitors.

As part of the site team, you will help maintain the site to provide high standards of safety, security and cleanliness; and be responsive to the daily needs of the School.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Responding to jobs raised on the Helpdesk on a daily basis
  • Ensuring classrooms and equipment are set up, as required
  • Ensuring the School is clean and welcoming at all times
  • Carrying out general maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and grounds
  • Ensuring routine health and safety checks are undertaken
  • Acting as a keyholder, routinely opening up the School
