We are looking for an experienced cleaner to join our site team to ensure that our staff and pupils are provided with a meticulously clean working and learning environment. We have a vacancy for 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3.15pm to 5.45 pm, all year round.

Duties will include dusting, polishing, vacuuming, mopping/sweeping using the specified materials and mechanical cleaning aids and other cleaning duties as necessary to meet the site daily cleaning schedule. . In return for an eye for detail and a willingness to work hard, we offer a friendly working environment with opportunities to develop professionally through our Performance Management and CPD programme.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of RE and Humanities to join our successful and ambitious Humanities Faculty from September 2019. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to work in a faculty with highly dedicated staff and motivated students. We are looking for a teacher who is enthusiastic, ambitious and who can promote high expectations within the Humanities Faculty and throughout the Academy as a whole. Candidates must be able to teach across the age and ability range and preferably be able to teach to Advanced Level in RE. Some teaching across other Humanities subjects will be required. Examinations Invigilator

Handsworth Grammar School

We are seeking to recruit Examinations Invigilators. You will be part of a team of Examinations Invigilators for internal and external examinations working in support of a member of permanent school staff who will lead and direct the examination rooms. Duties will include preparing the examination rooms in accordance with regulations, distribution of examination scripts and independently start and finish examinations in a room on your own. Hours worked are variable and would be on a demand basis, morning sessions usually starting at 08:30am and afternoon sessions at 13:00pm. Some days you would be required to work all day but the number of hours cannot be guaranteed. The Public Examinations will be in May/June 2017 so we need applicants who can commit to several weeks of work in this period. There are also internal examinations and assessments held throughout the academic year which we require invigilators for.

Training would be given to successful candidates. You should have good written and verbal skills, an approachable manner and the ability to empathise and support students at the most stressful time of their school career.

The school was recently graded Good with Outstanding features in the last Ofsted inspection.

The Science Faculty’s aims are to

  • stimulate interest in, and enjoyment of, Science
  • develop skills, knowledge and understanding of Science and, through support and challenge, enable each student to realise their full potential
  • effectively deliver the National Curriculum and the requirements of Post-16 Specifications
  • encourage the students to become informed and aware members of society, able to formulate and communicate their own opinions and judgements about developments in Science

The Science Faculty is housed within a purpose built two-floor block consisting of eight laboratories, four preparation rooms and resource/office accommodation.  Owing to the popular nature of the subject, some lessons inevitably have to be taught in classrooms.

Learning Support Officer

King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls

Grade 2, point 15, term time only

4 days a week 29 hours

5 days a week 36.5 hours

The school is seeking to appoint a Learning Support Officer to work with students from all key stages within the school.  The successful candidate would ideally have experience as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant though training would be offered.

The role involves working with the school’s SENCO to offer in-class support, leading small group interventions and supporting teaching and learning for students with additional needs.  The department had a designated space – The Learning Hub – which would be the base for the majority of the student support.

This role is term time only and there is flexibility as to whether this role is completed over four or five days a week but must include Fridays. Starting on 25th February 2019 or sooner if possible.

Clear communication and commitment to working with staff, students and parents are essential in order to provide the best learning experiences for SEND students both inside and outside the classroom.  We are looking for a dynamic colleague who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people.  Our students are enthusiastic, well-behaved and have high aspirations.  We are looking for a colleague who can offer additional support for those students who need it.
