HEALTHY LIVING – INTRODUCTION

How healthy are you?

You have seen in previous units items of food and drink that you might order in a cafe. This section will look in more detail at a wider range of items of food and drink, focussing on the things you eat that are good for you – fruits and vegetables!

How many fruits and vegetables below do you eat? Tell the truth!

Do you know what these mean in English?

What do you like to eat? What don’t you like to eat?

Remember our opinion verbs in French?

J’aime

J’adore

Je prefere

Je n’aime pas

Je deteste

Can you tell your friend what fruit and vegatables you like to eat, can you describe what fruits and vegetables you don’t like to eat? Can you connect your sentences using the word ‘and’ – ‘et’

Genders of nouns are less important here as the word you use for ‘the’ will be ‘les’ because you will be using plural nouns – I like apples – I don’t like cherries

Je prefere les framboises et j’adore les pommes – I prefere the raspberries and I love the apples
