MY SCHOOL – WORDS

Your daily routine

This section will focus on your daily routine – the kind of things you do every day before you go to school and when you get home from school.

What kinds of things do you do every day?

Get up?

Have a shower?

Eat your breakfast and dinner?

Go to bed?

Do your homework? (Maybe not every day!)

Reflexive verbs

Reflexive verbs are not really used in the modern day English language. They are verbs that you ‘do to yourself’. For example, I give myself a wash or I wake myself up.

Maybe in Tudor England King Henry VIII might have said ‘ I am going to take myself to bed’ but we don’t really use verbs in a ‘reflexive’ way anymore!

Reflexive verbs are still common in the French language and as learners of this language, we come across reflexive verbs when we are learning about our daily routine.
