MULTI ACADEMY TRUST
Consultation on the question of whether or not the Academy Schools within the Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham (the “Foundation”) should join a multi academy trust which will be known as King Edward VI Multi-Academy Trust.
The Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham (registered charity number 529051) (the Foundation) is proposing to establish a multi academy trust to be known as King Edward VI Multi-Academy Trust (the KEVI MAT). This proposed Trust would include the current King Edward VI Academy Schools which are King Edward VI Aston School, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls, King Edward VI Five Ways School, King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls and King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy. This website provides further information on the implications of the Schools joining this Multi Academy Trust (often referred to as a MAT) and we would like to hear your views on this proposal.
The Foundation and each school’s Governing Body believe that this proposal will help safeguard and strengthen the outstanding education currently provided by each of the Schools, benefitting their current and future students and the contribution they make to their local and regional communities.
Once the governing bodies have received and considered your responses, they will each make a decision on whether or not to proceed with an application to the Education Funding Agency (the relevant government body) to join the KEVI MAT. Each governing body is separately considering the proposal and the decision of one governing body is not dependent on another.
