King Edward VI High School for Girls
Established in 1883, it originally shared the same site in New Street where King Edward’s School (for boys) was firmly established. In 1940 it moved to its present site in Edgbaston, which it also shares with the boys’ school.
The school provides excellent facilities for approximately 570 girls of excellent academic ability from 11 to 18 years of age and is one of the country’s premier day schools, regularly placed with the elite in National League Tables.
Girls achieve excellent exam results and are successful with their applications to the best universities in the country.
Educated in a safe environment that offers a warm, friendly, happy and stimulating atmosphere, our girls enjoy amazing opportunities at home and abroad.
Governors try to do their best to ensure that those girls who would flourish at this school can attend via the free and assisted places scheme.
“I want the girls who come here to work in a welcoming and caring atmosphere, where they can seize the opportunities offered to them”
